I fight these wars in my soul nearly every day. For so long I just sat in the back, my dreams spilling out on the floor. I found myself over a year ago with a giant in the world of ministry, with a big vision growing in my heart, I knew exactly what I wanted to ask: “How do you know if a vision is from God?”

Instinctively, we know what makes for a good community: a safe place where I am included, where I am known and loved, and I in turn know and love others. But it can sometimes be just a veiled request for feeling good. Once we discover that other people are deeply flawed, we often pull back, thinking everything is wrong.

This February 27th, we want to raise the bar and stand together again with people from all over the world to create even more awareness through another SHINE A LIGHT ON SLAVERY DAY.

It’s not up to chance, and it definitely matters, what you do and how you conduct yourself.  When I realized this simple fact, it completely changed the way I worked and lived.

One of the most popular questions that arises is, “What are you giving up for Lent?” I’ve heard a wide range of responses including chocolate, sodas, television, Facebook, and sugar. But I think there’s a better question to ask as we prepare for Lent: “What do you want to lay hold of?”

The good news is that we don’t have to be someone great to do something great. We don’t have to be someone famous, or powerful, or educated to accomplish great things in this world. Often, it is the most unlikely of characters who find themselves being used by God to make a difference.

We all have influence with others whether we realize it or not.  Discovering your clout is an essential part of unleashing your purpose.  You have a specific purpose, a calling, that only you are qualified to fulfill.  Your God-given influence defines your purpose.  Your purpose establishes your leadership.  Your leadership makes a mark on the world.
