When we heard about it we knew we needed to ask her a few questions about what that whole process was like.

In our culture of leadership and ladder-climbing, catch phrases and well-crafted truths, I am wondering if we can too easily lose the method that God has always used to show us His heart.

In my years of pastoring and counseling, I have become convinced that many of the problems we find within our leadership culture result from an unbiblical definition of success.

In the last decade, we have seen the church rise up and lean into what it means to love and serve the poor. From slavery and orphans, to clean water, foster care, homelessness, job creation and more -- God's people are on the move and they are trying to solve some of the worlds greatest problems. 

There is a point in ministry when you realize the calling is not as glamorous as you might have thought when you first fell in love with it.

What I don’t get is where to start. How do I find that calling? How do I know what I’m passionate about?  

Find where you, the team, or the organization has a weakness in these areas, and address it, either through people or processes.

You don’t just have the right to say no; you have the responsibility.

One of the vital lessons we must learn, as Change Makers, is to give a reverent and attentive ear to the sage voices who have walked before us.

What if we stop letting the past keep us from moving to where we feel God is calling us to go?  

For leaders, self-reliance can quickly turn into pride and the exclusion of God altogether. We think our plans, innovation, and methods are great because they succeed. We look at what we’ve built and say, “Man, Look what I can do.”
