Great leaders don't build platforms to escape from people; they build platforms to serve people.

We love the community we have found – the gathering of the Church. But in that place, we can also forget that God is doing big things everywhere. And we can fall into some hidden dangers we never went looking for.

Let’s be very clear: A volunteer pipeline is not the same thing as a pipeline that multiplies leaders. These are two different things. You need both. Currently, most churches have only one.

Followers of Jesus are increasingly responding with humble hearts to the commands of Scripture to be sent on a kingdom mission of justice and righteousness.

I was stuck in the lie that the other speakers’ success would somehow lessen mine.

As you find those around you that God is raising up for leadership in his church, have that moment in mind. Walk with them through their preparation for leadership and be ready for the time when suddenly, the person who has come with you into leadership becomes the one that is teaching others about it.

As you work with students, may I suggest we make a shift in the questions we’re asking?
